So you just randomed Phantom Assassin and you've only got sixty seconds to learn how to play Phantom Assassin. What will you do? Never fear: this is DOTA in :60.
Phantom Assassin -- real name Mortred -- is a woman in desperate need of a dictionary.
She's a hard carry. By the end of the game, she can slay people single-handedly, but at the start of the game -- her nickname is "death by a thousand paper cuts".
Four magical powers:
The first one is "leg knife", which causes enemies to hobble for a second or two. You should follow this with the phrase, "Don't you dare run from me".
Next up is "Oops, I'm over here now" which allows her to hop into or out of battle and has a side-effect called Super Knife Time.
Blur makes her, well -- blurry... and now for the big ulti!
Actually, "OMG are you chocking here let me help" is more of a statistical, OH MY GOD SHE JUST SLIT THAT GUY'S THROAT!
She's desperately dependent on farming, so dagger up as fast as you can. With "leg knife" you can last hit for beaucoup gold, with "Oops, I'm over here now?" you can turn yourself into a blender, with blurry you can tell if a guy is hiding behind a tree, and with "OMG are you chocking" -- OH, STOP DOING THAT.
So what about items?
She's got low armor, so grab a shield.
She's agile, think attack speed.
Phase Boots and Battle Fury are most popular, but if you want my advice, add Abyssal Blade.
Battle Fury gives you splash damage for painting the town red and Abyssal Blade stuns your enemies while you puree them into fishing chum with your +100 damage.
